It would have been really nice if I had remembered a little earlier that the fact that I'd just got a shiny new camera before I took this trip meant that it was defaulting to JPEG only shooting because that's how camera vendors still ship things. Sadly it took until half way through this day for me to figure that out, a bit after this image. Oh well.
