The tones and textures of this door (one of a series) jumped out at me.

Half the joy of film is that sometimes your images just come out mostly preedited, this is one of those times. The three roofs provide a nice geometric pattern and then the film had the range to also capture the detail in the sky.
Pause
I was taking some long exposures at Asakusa to get the whole busy crowd feel when fortunately this man stopped and stood still in the middle of the crowd giving me a completely different and much better shot to that which I expected.
What I had actually been trying to do here was a shot of the woman pushing the cart in the foreground; it wasn't until I was reviewing the pictures later that I realized that the woman and man behind her were mostly in focus. The result ends up capturing some of the atmosphere of the streets of Hong Kong at night for me.
Waiting
One of the things I most love about Tokyo is how easy it is to get out of the city into the countryside enough that you'd never really know there was such an enormous city nearby. This is a view from the top of Mount Takao rather than of it after I hiked up, an hour on the train to the bottom of the mountain and another hour and a bit walking up.
Mount Takao
I came upon a row of half-broken stools that had been left out in front of an interestingly textured wall on a back street between Apujeong and Gangnam. The colour on this orange one worked especially well with the greys of the wall and road, and the block beneath the stool helps too. The subject could be either the stool and the road marking or the shades and textures of grey.
Chair
Walking along the street between appointments, caught mid stride. The tea houses are confined to a very small area in Kyoto but within that area they're just a very standard part of what's going on.
Geisha
This kind of shot of a dark figure walking through a light square has been done a million times before; I'm sure it's even been done from this spot before. Nevertheless I'd not done it before so here we are.
Crossing
This is just a simple shot of a windswept tree on a beach I visited just outside of Tokyo. I had left bracketing on on the camera so I had an overexposed shot and I really liked the graphic quality it had so I went with it.
Tree
Someone had just splattered this very straight yet messy line over the wall at Chungmuro subway station, using a colour just off that of the accent tiles at an angle that's also a bit off. Really wish I knew what was going on there.
Pollocks
George Square
Nice clean lines and reflections here, coming just after sunset as I was trying to finish off the roll of film I had in the Trip 35.
Stairs
This temple complex existed long before Gangnam started to be built up - now it's right next to one of the biggest shopping malls in Seoul in between all the skyscrapers but thanks to some fortunate landscaping and use of trees it still feels like an oasis in the city.
Bongenusa
When I was walking along the path here towards the helipad poking out into the sea the colours and textures of the rocks and how they contrasted with the blue of the water and the sky jumped out at me. I took a number of shots, this one wound up being the one which I felt worked best.
Helipad
The way the light was hitting this phone box caught my eye as it emphasized the graphic blocking of the stairwell behind it and how it aligns with the phone box. I took some digital shots as well as this shot on HP5+ but it was this one that really stood out.
Telephone
The leading lines here from the edge of the path/stair caught my eye and I figured they'd work really well with the HP5+ I had loaded in the Diana and the sketchy optical performance of the camera. When I got the film back I was pretty pleased with how it all turned out, messy but in a good way.
Stairs
Every Saturday night Sai Yeung Choi Street in Mong Kok is pedestranized and there are street performers down the length of it. Usually these are mostly people singing karaoke style but on this night there were a few other performers, including this woman being a human statue.
